Dee King

Dee King was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 2015 becoming the 41st Member to be inducted.

Dee joined the THPA in 1986 becoming a member of the Greater Houston Horseshoe Pitching Association and has since been a faithful ambassador for the sport of horseshoe pitching.

Dee is a force to be reckoned with on the courts. She has pitched in Class A for many years, often carrying an average of 50%-60%. She won the title of Texas Women’s State Champion in 2011 and again in 2013.

Dee has also served the THPA off the courts, acting as THPA 5th Vice President and Editor for a total of 7 years since 1999. She also held a position on the THPA Advisory/Rules Committee and assisted with the most recent re-write of our By-Laws. She currently holds the position of Houston’s Tournament Director.

As a member of the GHHPA, Dee traveled to many private functions, teaching and promoting the sport of horseshoe pitching. She has also actively spread the news of the THPA at many “Country Pitch” tournaments throughout the years. She was awarded the Charlie Posey Sportsmanship Award in 2011

Dee’s induction into the Hall of Fame is very well deserved. To this day Dee continues to be an active member within the THPA, lighting up the courts with her sunny personality and infectious smile.
