Jean Davenport

Jean Davenport was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 2009 becoming the 37th Member to be inducted.

Jean has been a member of THPA for 26 years and has served as an officer for both the Lubbock and Snyder clubs. When she was pitching, she was a very tough competitor on the pits.

When at tournaments she is always ready to keep score, work in concessions, or help at the stats table.

During the time she was a member of the Lubbock Club, she became interested in getting Junior pitchers to participate in our sport. She contacted the West Texas clubs with a proposal of adding $1.00 to the entry fee to the first tournament of each year to set up a scholarship fund. This was so successful that the other clubs in the state joined in the program. This is how the Junior Scholarship Program got its start. She remains an avid supporter of the Junior's as she knows this is our future horseshoe pitchers.

She has always been dedicated to horseshoe pitching and continues to assist at any tournament she attends.
