Berlin Sipple was inducted into the THPA Hall of Fame in 1974 becoming the 3rd Member to be inducted.
Dubbed as one of the four original "Texas Giants", Berlin Sipple or "B.E.", as many knew him, is considered to be the driving force behind the organization of the Texas Horseshoe Pitchers Association. In 1941 Berlin helped obtain Texas' first Charter from the NHPA, effectively becoming the founder of the organization.
Berlin was regarded as the #1 man in Texas horseshoe pitching. He possessed a deep passion for the sport and proved to be one of its most avid supporters and organizers. He served as President of the organization from time to time, but is best remembered as filling the role of Secretary for 24 years. In 1944 Berlin won the title of Men's State Champion. In 1968 he was the recipient of the first-ever Moses Sanderson Sportsmanship Award, an award that reflected the admiration and respect that those in the Texas Charter had for him. He was also bestowed the title of "President Emeritus" in honor of his many years of dedicated service. No other member of our organization has received this honor.
